Job Description Under the supervision of an LICSW, the LGSW/LICSW provides psychotherapy, counseling, and other services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The LGSW/LICSW coordinates patient discharge planning, complies with required standards for medical/legal responsibilities, and serves as a resource to other allied and administrative staff within the section of Social Work and the Department of Nursing supporting Colon Rectal Surgery; General Surgery; Oncology; Plastics; ENT. Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s level degree from an accredited college or university. Unless grandfathered at LGSW/LISW level by MN Board of Social Work, an MSW degree is also required from an accredited Masters of Social Work Program.
Other Qualifications:
Must have an advanced knowledge of categories in mental illness, personality development, knowledge of the types of psychiatric treatment, and skills in conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Must have knowledge in adjustment to medical diagnosis and chronic disease. Strong human relation skills are needed to interact with patients, patient’s family members, consultants, residents, hospital personnel, community agencies, and other resources. Must also have psychosocial diagnostic skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.

License or Certification:
Licensure at the LGSW, LISW level from the Minnesota Board of Social Work is required. LGSW personnel, following 4000 hours of supervision, are eligible to apply for certification at the LICSW level.
Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Exempt Hours/Pay Period: 80 hours per 2 week pay period. Schedule Details: Monday - Friday; Days (Variable shifts possible as needed based on patient needs.)
