Primary Function & Major Responsibilities Serves as a clinical provider of healthcare services for cardiovascular surgery patients, which include inpatient and outpatient departments including Heart Care Clinics if needed. Assess, implement, evaluate and do follow-up patient care, independently and in collaboration with the CV surgery team within the scope of practice for an RN. Accountable for the implementation of evidenced-based practice and the development of tools and pathways. Support the quality and related administrative needs of the CV surgery service across HealthEast.Provide care to patients. Assess, implement, evaluate and follow up patient care independently and in collaboration with the CV surgery team within the scope of practice for an RN.Completes necessary pre-operative paperwork, preparation and patient education, including facilitating discussion with CV Surgery provide! rs (MD's and PA's).Facilitates necessary communication between providers, hospital staff, and clinic offices in order to prepare the patients for surgery.Oversees work-up and pre-operative preparation for all cardiothoracic surgery consults (both in clinic and in CSC).Rounding with physician and writing notes in chart, discharge teaching, communication with nursing staff regarding care of immediate post-operative patients in collaboration with the CV Surgery providers (MD's and PA's) in post-operative care of patients.Will facilitate communication of relevant information on other surgical patients currently in the hospital, when developments occur while the CV Surgery providers are in the OR.Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and BLS Certification also required.
Experience:!
