Job Overview:
The Market Development Specialist in this role will be accountable for maximizing sales and product growth of our newest Physician based products within the assigned geographical area. In co-op efforts with the VP of Sales and Marketing, he/she will be responsible for design, implementation! and execution of sales strategies for this product group. Dir! ect field sales achievement, training, coaching and mentorship to Medivators field sales consultants on all Physician based products will be the primary objective. He/she will assist the Region Sales Directors in skill training of new hires and refresher training/mentoring of the sales team on specified Physician based products. He/she assists Sales Consultants on critical accounts, Doctor Health Networks and Health Systems as required to achieve maximum growth. He/she is responsible for reporting sales and competitive activity, and maintaining accurate account records. This is a field-based position and includes travel within an assigned geography.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and provide field sales training on all Medivators Physician based products, sales processes, selling techniques, either as refresher training or for new hires. Training would occur on an area, region or possibly national basis.
Assist the Region Sales Director in coaching/m! entoring Sales Consultants during in-territory travel, as required to advance skill levels and enhance sales achievement specifically relating to Physician based products.
Assist sales personnel as necessary to close significant sales opportunities in accounts of national or regional importance, including teaching institutions.
Call on territory, region and national accounts with a frequency sufficient to ensure account penetration, sales growth and business maintenance within a specified geographic territory on all Medivator Physician based products.
Identify and capitalize on new sales and business development opportunities within his/her assigned geography.
Conduct informational sales calls to assist in the field-based evaluation of new product opportunities/specifications. Identify beta-test sites and work in conjunction with Region Directors, Marketing/Education and Sales Consultant to ensure successful beta-test outcomes.
Research and communicate c! ompetitive marketplace information.
Maintain pricing/GP integrity f! or Medivatorsâ Physician based products within established guidelines.
Follow-up on sales inquiries generated from advertising, trade shows, emails, or in-person meetings
Meet or exceed sales objectives, while maintaining expenses at or below budgeted levels.
Communicate customer in-service and product service needs within the assigned geography.
Provide VP of Sales with accurate 30-60-90 day forecasts for Physician based product sales as required.
Regularly report to Medivators VP of Sales on sales activities, business growth and/or quality improvement opportunities, territory concerns and competitive activity.
Travel required is up to 80%
Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years successful experience in the sale of medical devices to healthcare accounts, directly to physicians and support staff
Track record of consistent achievement of annual sales objectives and annual ranking in the top tier of sales! consultants. History of being fiscally responsible with territory expenses.
Consistent history of establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external customers, and support personnel.
Demonstrated excellence in organizational skills with consistent and timely submission of required documentation and accurate 30-60-90 day forecasts.
Be recognized by their Sales Director as epitomizing a consultative sales approach, combined with comprehensive product and competitive knowledge, and ability to effectively train others.
High level of proficiency in relevant software skills and automated sales forms/tools.
