Job Description

We are now looking for a Hands-on Architect, QA to join our Payment Gateway team

Our Payment Gateway team is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and operating the cloud-based components.

As a Hands-on Architect, QA you will be taking the quality assurance in the team to the next level. Your fellow developers do unit and some integration tests and own the quality of their own code. Your job is to see the big picture and think about what is the best way to improve the quality of our constantly deployed software and participate in implementing it. This can be adding more test automation, contributing to stuff like canary deployments and working with our analytics team to find good early indicators that a new version needs to be rolled back.

The team picks the best tools for the job ー current technologies include JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and Java, with AWS services including Lambda, DynamoDB, Aurora MySQL, Kinesis, S3, and KMS. We are building a system to handle the load of the entire Europe.

Qualifications

Skills, motivation and that little personal twist make you succeed

First and foremost, we expect you to be open-minded and not afraid to learn new things. We’re looking for a person who takes responsibility and initiative, takes the lead where needed, and embraces teamwork. Don’t worry, you won’t be the only one with these traits.

We would love to chat with you if you know:

    Programming languages in general
    Different testing frameworks
    Testing and developing mission critical backend systems.
    AWS ー or serverless cloud tech in general
    Databases. We use MySQL and DynamoDB.
    Docker ー even if our production setup drifts away towards serverless, Docker will be an integral part of the dev & test setup.
    Memes ー the struggle is real

Bonus points if you have experience with:

    Payments and EMV
    Protocols like TCP, HTTP, WebSockets, and JSON/RPC
    Basics of cryptography like TLS and certificates
    Linux ー majority of the development tools run on Linux
    Data analysis/engineering.
    Stuff like canary deployments etc.
