MAB Community Services is a non-profit human service organization serving adults with developmental disabilities, adults with acquired brain injuries, individuals who are blind or visually impaired, and adolescents with autism. MAB is currently building our team with enthusiastic professionals with the desire to rebuild lives and grow professionally.
SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director of Healthcare and Wellness, and in conjunction with parents and guardians, coordinates all health care and dental services provided to students at the Ivy Street School. Plans, organizes, and advocates with community health care providers on behalf of students to facilitate medical care follow up including transportation to appointments. Oversees the health care services provided to students with the goal of preparing students with neurological challenges for family and community reintegration.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review medical records and update required student documentation.
- Assist nurse in scheduling student appointments.
- Track annual physical, dental and eye appointments.
- Drive students to appointments and ensure that all paperwork/appointment documentation is complete and filed; any follow-up work is conveyed to the rest of the nursing department. (The nurse will determine who should contact the family or guardian following an appointment).
- Coordination of annual on grounds dental clinic.
- Monitor and update appointment list on SharePoint and in the office.
- Update provider list on the SharePoint.
- Update health data for the Emergency Face Sheets and Health Care Proxy forms.
- Order medical supplies as needed.
- Prepare students for procedures (labs, EKG, EEG, eye exams, dental procedures, x-rays or other radiology exams, or surgery)
- Assist students in filling out appointment preparation form.
- Co-facilitate life skills groups in health and wellness, nutrition, sexual education, or substance abuse.
- Classroom coverage as needed.

At least 1 year of patient care experience, preferably in Psychiatry.
