The Physician Assistant will work cooperatively with the specific physician in providing optimal pre-operative, operative and non-operative spine care for patients. The Physician Assistant will also work independently as outlined below and will participate in all aspects of patient care as indicated.
Job Responsibilities:
? Provide appropriate assessment of patient’s health, ranging from focused to comprehensive
? Obtain patient health history from patient or guardian and review pertinent health records
? Perform patient examination
? Consults with supervising physician as appropriate with patient history
? Order pertinent diagnostic tests and procedures
? Interprets health information and establishes diagnoses consistent with the accumulated data
? Formulates treatmen! t plan
? Orders necessary medications and conservativ! e therapies
? Provide education and support to operative and non-operative patients
? Makes health record entries into electronic medical record and dictates according to standards
? Assists physician in surgery
? Provide for continuity of care during hospitalization including hospital rounds
? Work closely with physician, nurse and secretary to provide comprehensive care
? Assist the physician as needed during clinic and provide appropriate care to patients
