  • Previous course work or job experience with medical terminology

  • Experience/background in medical setting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to work some evening and weekend hours for a total of 10-15 hours during the school year and 30-40 hours per week during the summer
  • Strong preference for those willing to commit to greater than 1 year of employment
  • Strong preference for those with work study funds
Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

This position is to assist clinical research coordinators in carrying out studies involving transplant recipients and donors. The individual hired for this position will work primarily on a study i! nvolving follow-up of living kidney donors. Time will be divid! ed as follows:

60% Call living kidney donors to complete a follow-up health survey, call clinics or other medical facilities to obtain patient health information.

25% Enter data on transplant patients from surveys, medical records, and hospitals to computer databases.

10% Run errands for the office as needed.

5% Prepare forms, send mailings, make copies.

Program/Unit Description

TRO (transplant research organization) is part of the Department of Surgery, Transplant Division. TRO manages research studies and conducts research within the university involving solid organ transplant recipients and donors.
