Humera is now in need of multiple Surgical Patient Access Service Specialist to assist our client in downtown Minneapolis! In this role you will be assisting Surgica! l patients in a variety of ways. These positions requires fluent reading, writing, and speaking of the Spanish language. This role is a long term contact opportunity!Responsibilities and Duties:

Answering incoming phone calls to collect pre-registration information, verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility, secure payment for services, contract for payment and referrals to financial counseling
Determining patient needs and following internal systems to determine the action to take
Accurately capturing all necessary patient and financial data and scheduling, confirm, rescheduling and canceling patient appointments and confirming via mail with external vendors and/or internal clinics
Calculating patient liability and working to setup payment plans or securing other means of payment prior to scheduling; assisting with billing, payment plans and pre-payment service collections

Answering questions and communicating policies and procedur! es regarding patient financial care services and resources to ! patients, staff, payers and agencies
Responding to patient inquiries, billing questions and requests for appointment scheduling via online healthcare portal
Ensuring utmost confidentiality and safeguarding systems and records in accordance to state and federal laws and internal policies
Applying clear and concise notes to patient file capturing relevant information for future reference

Assisting and mentoring others as needed to ensure their success
Participating fully in department quality and improvement initiatives, staff meetings, group discussion and training
Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to fluently read, write, and speak Spanish
CNA preferred
Experience working in a call center
Experience working in a Healthcare Clinic and/or Operations (Orthopedic/Dentistry/Surgery clinic preferred)
Experience with EPIC Patie! nt Management software preferred
