Job Description:
The Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute is looking for a full-time grant-funded Master’s level Clinician/Social Worker/Research Associate to work on several different projects relating to depression prevention in youth and families. The successful applicant will work closely with the Project Managers and other Research Assistants, as well as the Principal Investigators, on efforts that will have a direct impact on adolescents and their families. The position will likely involve working on: (1) a large-scale, school-based screening/intervention initiative aimed at addressing the problem of youth depression and suicidal behavior; (2) a PCORI-funded primary care-based study comparing two different youth depression prevention programs; (3) an NIMH funded primary care Internet-based depression prevention study, the goal of which is to teach skills to at-risk adolescents so that they are less likely to become depressed; and (4) a PCORI-funded study examining care coordination for adolescents with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Job Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Licensed (LCSW/LICSW or LMHC) or license eligible clinician in Massachusetts or Rhode Island, and willingness to become licensed in the other state. Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
- Experience with completing clinical interviews.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations.
- Experience working with adolescents and families.
- Experience with managing confidential personal information
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred.
Job Competencies:
- High level of comfort with technology that enables virtual interactions (e.g., Zoom, Webex) and documentation.
- Ability to interact well with adolescents, parents, and school personnel.
- Ability to discuss mental health concerns, including depression, with families.
- Ability to compile and enter data accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, high level of professionalism and organization required.
- Efficient time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with little structure.
- Willing to travel locally to conduct study activities.
- Flexibility to support a varying work schedule which may involve some days with a noon-8pm schedule.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support and promote a diverse and inclusive campus community
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 7/31/2024 which may be extended based upon available funding.
