Description: University of Minnesota Twin Cities is at present recruited Research Associate right now, this vacancy will be placed in Minnesota. Duties/Responsibilities: The experience required for this position includes the ability to undertake studies of cell signaling, apoptosis, and gene therapy. Experience in cell culture work including isolation and culture of primary cells from tissue is required. Expertise in the study of signaling pathways in cells is required. Knowledge of basic techniques relating to biochemical, molecular biological, and cell biological studies is essential; including experience with cell viability and apoptosis assays, FACS analysis, real time PCR, and protein immunoprecipitation and immunoblot assays. Knowledge of working with animals (mice) including animal models of cancer (such as xenograft tumors) and small animal surgery is desirable. The candidates should have a demonstrated record of publication in pertinent areas of research. The candidate should be prepared to accommodate his/her effort and schedule to the requirements of specific experiments.

Required/Preferred Qualifications: Required Qualifications: The qualifications for the positions are a Ph.D. degree with specific research expertise in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology or a related field of biological sciences. Candidates holding Ph.D. degree should have at least 5 years of post-doctoral research experience. Experience working with and/or performing procedures on mice and tissues. Cell culture experience. Expertise in biochemical and cell biological assays of cell viability and death. Expertise in molecular biological RNA purification and real time RT-PCR. Expertise in fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS). Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills. Proven ability to write manuscripts. Microscopy experience including confocal.
