The Operating Room Staff Nurse functions within the framework of the nursing process, conferring, coordinating and collaborating with other health care personnel to provide optimum patient care to patients of all ages during the perioperative visit. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, coworkers and others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
Two years experience as an RN in an operating room OR successful completion of the SMMC Early Hire Surgery "In House" Orientation Program".
Licensure/Credentials:
Registered with an! d currently licensed with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
! Ability to work effectively with a variety of people. Possess tact, discretion, diplomacy and independent judgment when working with others. Ability to be flexible and work under tension. Willing to participate in on-call schedule. Willing to work irregular hours when necessary. Work is performed in a surgical setting with bright lights, good ventilation, and moderate noise levels.
May be required to work on-call or irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
