University of Minnesota Physicians seeks 1 board eligible/board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Hematology, Oncology, and Transplant Division of the University of Minnesota. The Certified NP/PA works in collaboration with physicians, nurses and administrative staff to provide comprehensive health care and plan of care to adult hematology and oncology patients in the inpatient setting of the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview.
In this role, the NP/PA will:
Engage in comprehensive diagnosis and management of complex heme-onc patients in all spectrums of care including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and supportive care.
Participate in daily rounding and complete comprehensive histories and physicals of hematology-oncology patients.
Collaborate with attending physicians, consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team. !
Responsible for admissions, discharges, initiating or! ders, and implementing diagnostic and treatment plans, including intravenous fluids, medications, and transfusions.
Perform minor procedures, including bone marrow aspiration and biospy, lumbar puncture, intrathecal chemotherapy administration and paracentesis.
Position Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through ANCC or eligible for ANCC national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous inpatient, acute care management experience is prefe! rred.
