Job Description:
The Surgery Scheduler works in collaboration with the Surgery and SDS charge nurse and the Nurse Managers to coordinate surgery/endoscopy scheduling activities. Must have a working knowledge of medical and surgical terminology, including the surgical case instrumentation, equipment and supporting functions. Supporting functions include, but are not limited to, the need for radiology, surgical assists, pathology participants, etc. Provides clerical, computer and phone support to the department as well.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
Scheduling with accuracy
Strong computer P/C, keyboarding, printer, copier, and multi-line telephone
Previous experience in service industry/profession
Preferred Experience:
One to three years of experience
Medical terminology training
