EMEA Fund Accounting Operations Lead - Executive Director [Luxembourg]

You will be responsible for managing a large team across multiple fund accounting products & regions both directly and via matrix reporting lines. This role will also involve significant project management, delivery of strategy and global change. You will be responsible for ensuring a gold standard of service, accuracy and timeliness on delivery across all EMEA locations including but not limited to Dublin, Edinburgh, Luxembourg while leading discussions and decision making for Europe in all senior management and risk forums. You will also serve as an escalation point for fund accounting issues and should demonstrate superior market, investment, and business knowledge ensuring quality of service whilst adhering to the strict deadlines. You should also have proven experience on reduction of manual touch points, automation, efficiency including monetary impacts and demonstrate excellent managerial skills including people development, particularly in overseeing multi-region teams.

Job responsibilities

Operational

  • Manage a delegated global operating model
  • Act as escalation point and leader for EMEA risk / control and manage issues and exceptions to closure
  • Ensure one standard approach is retained in EMEA where locations are split across Europe with individual site functional leads
  • Own complex issues and escalations including senior communications
  • Manage and initiate re-engineering projects to continually improve efficiency while maintaining the service standards to our clients
  • Lead and partner in Global and strategic initiatives
  • Provide operations subject matter expertise
  • Initiate change, projects and influence others with business case or provide opinion on proposals for EMEA and globally
  • Deal with complex off boarding/ on boarding of fund accounting products
  • Own all Investment Initiative proposals and track to conclusion including money spend, efficiency, head count asks and overall health of delegated portion of business
  • Track Core Trading Services for existing and proposed clients and understand models and complexity

Control / Risk
  • Act as the point of escalation for all production issues and ensure clear reporting to senior management
  • Be the owner for escalation and resolution of issues in a timely manner
  • Force deep dive / reviews as required
  • Review and ensure delegated team is operating within an appropriate control environment
  • Own and approve oversight and delegated functions, charters, Service level agreements and regulatory requirements, as well as all technology changes impacting Apps

Client / Service delivery
  • Establish effective working relationships with key global contacts and partners
  • Work closely with internal Lines of Business on the implementation/remediation of new business and client change requirements/changes including tech asks
  • Maintain gold standard of delivery timeliness and accuracy. Proactively review metrics to drive any remediation work before becoming reactionary
  • Follow JPMorgan's established processes and procedures, look to modify / iterate processes and procedures to continually improve accuracy, remove waste, and mitigate risk

Staff
  • Lead large teams in a structured and organised way in setting goals and priorities
  • Prioritise retention of talent via people development, coaching and mentoring
  • Lead by example for diverse slate hiring and encourage global mobility
  • Assist team members in allocating appropriate training and coaching methods

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive experience in a Fund Accounting environment
  • Strong leadership skills within a large team environment with the ability to set high standards and focus the team on achieving & improving on them
  • Strong client management skills and ability to build key relationships
  • Experienced in dealing with clients and /or very senior management
  • Proven experience in and an understanding of distributed operating model and constituent parts
  • Extensive experience in off boarding/ on boarding complex work process
  • Ability to motivate and influence stakeholders to improve service standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem solving and initiative
  • Experienced in working in a fast paced and demanding environment
  • Substantial experience of working within the financial services industry
  • Understanding of the financial markets, investment types and accounting and pricing policies essential

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Risk control and procedure orientated
  • Analytical, judgment and prioritisation skills
  • Invest One knowledge advantageous, but not essential
  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject
