About the Unit

The Financial Services Unit sits within the Chief Operating Officer portfolio and is a specialist unit that provides a broad range of professional, in-house financial services to the University’s executive, faculties, research, and administrative areas. We manage the University's financial obligations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and insurance.

About the Opportunity

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the overall framework and governance of the provision of procurement for UOW by providing advice and support on best practice in compliance with legislation and policy. This will include developing and maintaining systems, policies and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness across the University.

We are seeking a skilled individual who possesses high level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, as you communicate and consult with staff, business partners, and source and manage suppliers to ensure excellent delivery of service.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Source and manage supply contracts for UOW and its subsidiaries
  • Provide advice and support on best practice
  • Develop and maintain systems, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legislation and policy.
  • Managing insurance claims and renewals

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a procurement role within a medium to large organisation and:

  • Demonstrated negotiation experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and influence relationships as you support business partners and stakeholders
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks of varying complexity whilst applying sound initiative and judgement
  • Experience managing insurance processes and developing and interpreting supply contracts.

Employment will be subject to a National Criminal History Check.
