Within the IT and Data department, the Data and Analytics team (DnA) employs over 140 data professionals. Expertise includes AI and ML, Business intelligence as well as data analytics. With the Core Data Platform team, we lay the data foundation for our data and Schiphol colleagues to act on.

We do this by ensuring there is reliable and timely data. This means that the type of challenges you are confronted with are manifold; this range from developing new delivery mechanism to serve our data customers or make sure that our data is of the proper quality.

To fulfil this function, we are looking for a senior developer. Our data lake is based on Azure and Databricks and hence we require knowledge of this technology from candidates. We invite you to apply when you meet the following additional criteria.

Functie eisen

  • You have a BSc or MSc in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics etc.),
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in developing software systems of which at least half in distributed data environment
  • Your experience includes deployment and management of data-pipelines,
  • Strong Java/Scala experience, we would prefer someone with 2 + years hands-on experience with at least, two of the below:
  • Professional experience with Kafka (or Azure EventHub),
  • Professional experience with Spark, implementing both batch and streaming pipelines
  • You recognize the importance of logging and monitoring (we currently use DataDog, but are migrating to Splunk),
  • You have at least two year experience with Microsoft Azure (AWS, GCP are fine too),
  • You are comfortable working with latest DevOps principles like CICD, containers and orchestration;
  • Professional experience with Scrum,
  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of the Dutch language is a plus.
