Job Description
The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism and Nutrition within the Department of Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic is comprised of 45 endocrinologists. We are a tertiary referral center with broad expertise in the management of common and unusual endocrine disorders. Our bariatric surgery program is an integrated practice involving the disciplines of General Surgery, Endocrinology, Psychiatry and Psychology, Gastroenterology and Dietetics. We perform over 300 operations annually and have a solid foundation for basic and clinical investigation. Our clinical practice has a large referral base and our research programs are competitive with $13.4 million dollars of external funding. We have a committed education program with an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes and! CME courses.
Candidates must be board-certified/boar! d-eligible endocrinologists at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with clinical training in nutrition and a specific interest in the evaluation and management of the patient with obesity. The successful candidate will be actively involved in our multidisciplinary bariatric surgery practice with preoperative assessments and postoperative follow-up of patients interested in bariatric surgery. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in several initiatives within and outside the Division focusing on the management of the patient with obesity at the employee, community and referral practice areas. Candidates should have academic interest in the field of obesity.
