Responsibilities
This position is responsible for scheduling procedures and examinations performed in or by Surgical Services, Endoscopy, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and TransOne Mobile Laser Services
All patient information, procedure requirements are entered into Excellian to communicate throughout the facility and for each department to prepare and plan in advance for the procedure
Additionally, numerous schedules, reports, supply requisitions are generated for each patient in all areas
This requires great attention to detail and observing rules and guidelines for accurately scheduling procedures and resources
Education
High School Education
Additional Vo-Tech or equivalent preferred completion of formal medical/surgical terminology course
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 1 year scheduler experience in! a clinic or hospital setting
Experience in medical setting preferably a surgical department with knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and process preferred
Excellian Experience
Skills
Medical/surgical terminology
Excellent customer and communication skills
Computer experience with good typing skills
Able to sit for long periods answering high volume telephone calls and typing
Excellent problem solving skills, written, and verbal communication skills
