Medical Scribe

Location: Edina, Minnesota

Description: Twin Cities Orthopedics is currently interviewing Medical Scribe right now, this vacancy will be reside in Minnesota. For detail informations about this vacancy opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. Assist with patient care in the clinic and related administrative tasks to increase efficiency and productivity of Physician(s). This is a part time position working 5:00-8:00pm Monday-Wednesday, 2:00-8:00pm on Saturday, and 8:00am-8:00pm on Sunday.
Essential functions:
Work alongside physician to document patient data into electronic health records system during patient visit
Ensure accuracy of patient information entered into system
Ensure coding requirements are followed during entry of patient information
Retrieve data as needed related to the patient visit

May also assist with any of the following:
Room patients, compile patient medical data, and prepare for x-rays
Prepare, stock, and clean exam room
Apply, remove casts (if trained as Cast Technician)
Prescriptions: Obtain MD/PA-C approval and call/fax to pharmacy
Prep patients for injections; change dressings; remove sutures per Physician orders
Assist with medical supply inventory and ordering
Assist with information gathering prior to and during patient visit
Assist in surgical x-ray procurement
Assist in clinical related paper work including disability forms, physical thera py referrals, etc.
Assist with returning patient telephone calls
Schedule imaging studies and injections

Additional functions:
Any and all other duties as assigned

Education, experience, & other requirements:
Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology and treatment assessments to the extent required to understand and accurately transcribe dictated reports.

Essential Requirements:Ability to:
Comply with company policies, procedures, practices and business ethics guidelines.
Complete job required training.
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
Work in the clinic, office or surgery center during business hours
Travel independently throughout the clinic, office or surgery center (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, stooping or sitting fo r long periods of time may be required
Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
Converse in a respectful and professional manner
Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations
Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Understand and execute a variety of instructions
Effectively operate equipment and communicate on and operate the phone system
Work independently with minimal supervision
Travel to other work locations, if required
