Description: Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Skin Care is at present looking to employ Clinical Assistant right now, this vacancy will be placed in Minnesota. The Facial Plastic Surgery Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing basic care which includes assisting physicians with all procedures and tests. Duties include rooming patients, education and teaching, communicating effectively with patients and team members. The Assistant is also responsible for the daily maintenance of the laboratory area and equipment logs. The Facial Plastic Surgery Clinical Assistant is an integral part of the Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Skin Care practice, working directly with the aestheticians and physicians. This employee must be willing, and committed to help build and maintain our successful Facial Plastics practice, using a team approach. Patients will include those who are interested in reconstructive, as well as cosmetic surgery of the face and neck. For some of these clients the surgery will be elective, and some necessary. Patients considering elective surgery can be high maintenance and often times challenging. It is important that the clinical staff be supportive, available and accommodating for fee for service customers. This position involves working in both our Eagan and Woodbury locations. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting or standing for long periods of time. Working in an office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Ability to lift five to twenty pounds on a regular basis and ability to move patients. Working in a fast paced environment and use of the telephone required. Manual dexterity required for use of the keyboard. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast paced office environment. Contact with physicians, staff, patients and various outside contacts PERSONALITY CHARACTERISTICS:Team player, professional, committed, friendly, considerate, sympathetic, understanding, confident, energetic, flexible, hard working, self critical. Represent Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Skin Care in a professional manner related to appearance, communication and maintenance of the patient and company confidentiality. Must be willing to answer incoming phone call questions from perspective Midwest Facial Plastic Surgery & Aesthetic Skin Care clients. This will include not only informing them of the services available, etc., but also scheduling these clients for consultations in either the Eagan or Woodbury location. The clinical assistant must be interested and skilled in medical photography and the transferring of digital images to the computer chart. Client information will need to be entered into the digital computer in the consultation room at the Eagan and Woodbury clinics. Routine post operative wound care cleansing is performed by the clinical staff. Suture and staple removal will also be performed as well as application of post surgical dressings. Answering routine post operative questions regarding surgical wounds. Acts as a resource person to the clinical team regarding clinical and patient care issues related to patients of the Facial Plastics clinic. Strong computer skills required for this position. The clinical assistant will use email as their main source of communication. Attends staff meetings as required. Makes recommendations for revision and/or new departmental procedures under the direction of the Clinical Services Supervisor. Responsible for being up-to-date and knowledgeable of the healthcare practices, as well as remaining current about Federal and State regulations. Serves as a role model for effect teamwork and promotes positive attitudes among team members. EDUCATION/TRAINING/LICENSURE; Must be licensed as a practical nurse in the State of Minnesota, or a graduate of a Medical Assistant course. One - two years experience in a specialty care setting preferred. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills. Valid Drivers license is required.
