As an Area Support Coordinator, you will be reporting directly to the Head of Regional Care Partnerships and working closely with them to plan and prioritise. You will be responsible for a designated local area and be part of a larger regional team. The main purpose of the role is threefold:

  • To ensure that people affected by MND are supported and empowered
  • To lead, manage and support teams of volunteers
  • To develop and maintain relationships with local services and their staff

You will assist our volunteer-run branches and groups to understand the local needs of people with/affected by MND and collaboratively support them to plan, design and deliver a range of appropriate support activities (support groups etc) to meet those needs.


What are we looking for?

As a successful candidate you will need to build and maintain excellent relationships with volunteers, care centres/networks, care coordinators and multi-disciplinary health and social care professionals, hospices, other partners and people living with and affected by MND. This role requires someone with excellent communication, relationship management and interpersonal skills.

An enthusiastic, creative and solutions focused individual who is able to plan and organise. You will need to have a person-centred approach with the ability to identify, assess and effectively respond to support needs

This role will be home-based with regular travel within the area of responsibility and working occasional out of office hours. There is an expectation that you will travel nationally when required and to our national office in Northampton.
