Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare is currently seeking a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join a specialized hospital-based pediatric orthopedic practice. This position is responsible for providing diagnosis and treatment of complex orthopedic problems that affect the bones and muscles of children, adolescents, and young adults, who have gait problems, injuries, and neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions, such as cerebral palsy, spinal bifida, muscular dystrophy, and genetic/chromosomal anomalies, with an emphasis on patients with gait issues.

The minimum qualifications for this Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon position are: 1) Eligibility for a Minnesota medical license; 2) Board Certification/Eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery; 3) Completion of a fellowship training program in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery; 4) Documented experience in gait research studies, as evidenced by at least two publications in major peer reviewed journals; 5) Gait lab experience in a certified gait lab with a substantial clinical volume comprised of children with cerebral palsy, 3D kinematics and kinetics, force plates, oxygen uptake, and a multidisciplinary environment that includes physicians, therapists, and engineers; 6) Clinical and surgical experience with patients who have cerebral palsy and spina bifida. Experience gained during fellowship training is acceptable.
