The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Services Department setting is required to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and supervise nursing care of surgical patients in accordance with Association of Operating Room Nursing (AORN) and policies and procedures of St. Marys Innovis Health (SMIH). Provides direct patient care to patients requiring care for medical, diagnostic and emergency surgeries.
Qualifications (minimum requirements)
Must be currently licensed through the State of Minnesota.
Must have adequate communication skills and the ability to perform leadership functions: to supervise, coordinate and evaluate patient care delivered by nursing personnel. The RN will demonstrate safe and effective practice based on! advanced knowledge of physiological and psychosocial concepts! and the application of therapeutic interventions.
Must be able to cover call, response time 20 minutes.
Education and/or years of experience required:
Qualifications Preferred*
1 year previous experience in surgical or critical care nursing.
Must be CPR certified and ACLS certified or become certified within six (6) months if working in the post anesthesia recovery area or out patient surgical area.
