Phillips Eye Institute (PEI), located in Minneapolis, Minn., is the nation's third largest specialty hospital dedicated to eye diseases and disorders. PEI draws nearly 16,000 inpatients and outpatients each year from a five-state region. Its 180 employees and more than 160 affiliated physicians provide an array of services, from diagnostic tests and vision rehabilitation to laser eye treatments and specialized eye surgery.
Responsibilities
Responsible for administering vision screening services at designated Minneapolis Pu! blic Schools
Perform all elements of visual screening! exam
Coordinate, instruct, and manage participating volunteers onsite
Communicate with school nurses, health offices, and faculty onsite regarding vision screening process
Enter vision screening data into EYE database
Provide health office with all necessary paperwork
Communicate with EYE Foundation Associate to coordinate and manage volunteer shifts and schedules
Education
High School Diploma Required
Qualifications
Experience
Work with Children
Read, speak, and write the English Language
Skills
Ability to lead a screening team consisting of paid staff and volunteers
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Meet deadlines and adapt to changes
Operate computers and related software applications
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Travel between schools
Work in a multicu! ltural team setting and individually
Bilingual Spanish, Somali, or Hmong candidates encouraged to apply
