Job Description
Mayo Clinic’s division of plastic surgery is looking for a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to work collaboratively with a team of physicians, fellows! /residents, nurses and other allied health staff to provide al! l aspects of high quality patient care for adult and pediatric plastic surgery patients. The division is internationally renowned for excellence, innovation and performing cutting-edge procedures. NP/PAs are valued members of the care team within plastic surgery and essential to meeting the health needs to those which we provide care. The Plastic Surgery practice has 10 surgeons and 8 NP/PA staff, three with hospital focus and five with a clinic/outpatient practice focus Regardless of your goals, opportunities exist within the department of surgery for continued, lifelong learning and development.
The NP/PA within plastic surgery is primarily responsible for performing postoperative care in an independent, outpatient clinic. The position also includes operating room support, preoperative assessment, coordination of patient care, and patient management for a variety of plastic surgery indications. The primary focus will be reconstructive craniofacial and cosmetic su! rgery for the pediatric population involving craniofacial surgery. Provision of care includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in clinic and the OR as delegated by the supervising surgeon. All NP/PA providers have a small operating room component to their practice. Educating and counseling patients and their families is a core skill in this practice. A high level of autonomy is expected.
Basic Qualifications:
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification, or eligible to be certified, as an ANP, ACNP, or FNP certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment date). Or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by the NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practi! ce.
Other Qualifications:
Must be eligible for DEA ! registration and billing privileges. Strong written and oral communication skills are required and must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team. Please submit resume and 2 letters of reference.

Weekend Schedule:
Compensation Detail: Salaried - Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $3526.40 based on a full-time position.
